How to Know if You're a Fact or a Fiction

Fact or a Fiction
How to Know if You're a Fact or a Fiction

Hoalah - Fact or fiction? Fiction or fact? Which one are you? Fact and fiction aren’t opposites, after all, and both can exist in the same person at the same time. Here are some clues that you might be more of one than the other, as well as some ways to make your facts more real and your fictions more factual.

Superstitions Are Just Facts

So you think all these old wives tales and superstitions are just nonsense? Think again! Superstitions have been around for centuries, which means there's probably something to them. One thing is for sure: no matter what you believe in, it can't hurt. So when the so-called experts told me that breaking mirrors will result in bad luck I took it as a matter of fact. Nowadays I'm much more observant with the way I care for my mirror and keep it away from anyone looking like they want to get up close and personal with it!

What We Believe Can Influence Our Health

It’s the matter of fact that our minds and bodies are so closely connected, and what we believe can have an enormous effect on our health. When you enter into a state of acceptance about your condition, for example, it could go as far as healing some physical symptoms. Moreover, when you understand that even debilitating disorders such as paralysis come from consciousness rather than some accident in the brain or injury on the spinal cord (paralysis is simply when somebody becomes trapped in their belief that they cannot move), then this type of condition doesn't seem like such an impossible obstacle to overcome. We may not be able to do anything about our conditions physically but there is much we can do with our minds—it just takes consciously working with reality instead of against it.

Healthy Beliefs Boost Happiness

We now know that people with positive beliefs about themselves are generally healthier and happier. But how do you tell what your self-beliefs are, and what should they be? Let's look at two words: matter of fact. With something being a matter of fact, it doesn't require speculation; it is based on the observable reality. There's no need for conjecture because the answer is clear-cut - there is proof! And this corresponds perfectly with research that says healthy self-beliefs produce happy people. So if you want to be more positive and optimistic, start paying attention to the facts in your life - they provide all the answers you need to know who you are and how good your life can be.

The Mental Side Affects Our Physical Health

Psychologists have learned that the relationship between mental and physical health is reciprocal. When one suffers, the other does too. So it's not a matter of fact that you should be treating your body as well as your mind - doing so is the best way to live. But how do you know if you're more of a fiction than fact? Here are some signs to look out for:

-You feel totally overwhelmed by this whole idea of taking care of yourself. If looking after yourself feels like an impossible task, then you might be living more in fictionland than fact-land.

-Your self esteem takes a beating often and there's rarely room for much positivity in your life these days.

Avoiding Stressful Situations

It's not uncommon for the mind to play tricks on us, causing us to see what we want to see. Oftentimes, our minds are drawn toward things that increase stress and anxiety. Recognizing your thoughts as such can help you break free from stressful situations so that you don't get dragged into bad habits. Distract yourself by breaking focus on the stressful matter of fact and think about something else for awhile. Focus your attention on what brought you joy in the past, then allow your brain time to let go of the traumatic experience and return back to reality.

Thinking About the Past Can Ruin Our Present Day

Every single time I think about my past I get frustrated, so I just try not to. But at the same time, my past is the only thing that's led me to where I am now. So really, it's a matter of fact that thinking about it can help you know who you are and how you want to live your life from here on out. It doesn't have to be in such a painful way either! Maybe journaling is for you, or just remembering the good times without replaying them over and over again. Either way, there are some things in our lives we need to let go of if we want live a peaceful life today.

Seeing the Good in People and Their Actions

A matter of fact, if you take the time to notice what is around you you will see that there are many things going on all at once. From the minute movements of animals in nature, the sounds and smells coming from your kitchen, the people coming in and out of buildings, this place is absolutely buzzing with life. Remember that good thoughts come from seeing the good in everyone's actions. When we focus on all the good things happening we bring positive light into our lives and have more positive thoughts than negative ones.
